My Story

1985 to 1987
aged: 1
From: Ayrshire Scotland

This memorial page is being created in loving memory of my darling neice Karen who was born on the 1st October 1985, and who was tragically taken back to be raised in heaven on February 1987 age 2yrs 4mths.
Karen leaves behind Mum Margo, big sister Louise, big brother Kevin, nana, papa, aunt Lynda and Aunt Jackie. You are truly and sadly missed by all.

Karen was a very happy little girl, youngest member of the family, loved to sing and dance, kept everyone laughing. She was a joy to have and was never ill. One Thursday morning Karen had chocked on a sweetie, her Mum margo managed to get the sweet up and later that day she took Karen to the Dr who said that she had a throat infection and prescribed antibiotics. On the Friday she was no better, wouldn't eat and sounded as if she had a croaky voice so her mum took her back to the Dr again who told her to give the medicine time to work. Saturday Karen began to get worse, her breathing was laboured and everyone was concerned but not the Dr. He took a look at karen and said that "if she had been a 6 month old baby he would get her into hospital to have oxygen but as she is over 2yrs old she will be ok." Karen could not settle through the night, she just couldn't get comfortable. Early Sunday morning the Dr was called again but it was too late Karen stopped breathing in my arms. All attempts were made to revive her but it was too late. Later it was found that Karen had an abcess behind her windpipe that had burst due to the choking on the sweet. If Karen had lived she would not have had any quality of live. We believe that Karen's death was due to neglect on the Drs part. It only seems like yesterday when you were with us, but we know that God had only lent you to us for a wee while.

you were in our lifes but a short time .
you filled our hearts with joy and laughter.
you made our family so close there efter.

we thank god for giving you to us.
we wish that you could have stayed .
it would have been a plus.
but this was not to be.
god wanted you with him you see.

we remember the song that you sang.
cadburrys double decker .
and aunt jackies knee high boots .
you were always just a loveable wee toots.

we know that you are always there and dont despair .
the memories that we all have are imprinted in our hearts forever xxx(aunty lynda always in my heart the familys blessing xxx)
